Ride Details

The route is predominately a beginner hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.

After leaving Gawler, the ride follows the Barossa Valley Way passing through Sandy Creek and Lyndoch. The ride continues on to picturesque Williamstown, via Lyndoch Valley Rd, where it will be possible to have a short break.

The ride continues with a left turn onto Mount Crawford Rd, from Williamstown's main street, which soon becomes Warren Rd, climbing gradually upwards towards Warren Reservoir. Once the peak is reached the route is reversed, with a fast downhill run back to Williamstown's main street.

Leaving Williamstown via Yettie Rd, the route then continues onto Balmoral Rd and Calton Rd before the final downhill run to Gawler.

If that weather forecast is a lie, Frank, perhaps it's a good thing you'll be away... I've got nothing but swear words for what the skies & winds have been dishing out these past 48 hours.

SuperDrome is going to be freaking freezing tonight.

Ha, I think the weather forecast lies! :-)

Probably won't make this one... I think I'm going to have a Saturday morning sleep in!

Ride Update as at Thursday 11.00pm CST

Hi friends....and future friends.

1.FYI.... I will not be riding this week due to circumstances outside of my control. (Legal appeals have failed). GW however is not about  individuals...it is all about the higher GW group..... and the GW greater good. (Pete Roberts will be in charge of the ride report.)  I will see you all on the BIG 25th Aug ride. Look forward to seeing all of your comments on this weeks ride.

2. FYI >>> Local Gawler weather forecast below for ride day/time. It will be very close to perfect riding conditions....don't miss it because...........rides like this one are "must do's"...one of our most popular routes ever!

This is a great ride enjoyed it last time. Can't attend at home with the flu. Enjoy the ride

Ok, so my plan is to attend, but with 4 kids plans change very quickly, getting sick of putting in "will attend" and not being able to.. Need to start getting fitter as I am doing the 107km go the distance challenge.. our eldest was born with a heart problem and had an operation at 7 days old, so I see it as a chance to give something back, not only for the help we have received, but everyone else that has had experience, with heart cncer or any other problems with family or friends..

Enjoyed this route last time I rode it, but think I'll be stopping for coffee at Williamstown rather than climbing Warren Road :-P
