Ride Details
The route is predominately a beginner hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
The first section of the route, however, is flat and passes through Muno Para, Blakeview and eventually Craigmore via Adams Rd, where the first long steady climb starts on Yorktown Road. The climbing continues with a left turn onto Black Top Rd which leads to the township of One Tree Hill.
The visit to One Tree Hill is only fleeting as a left turn onto One Tree Hill Rd followed by another left turn onto the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd starts the climbing again.
A left turn onto Kentish Rd begins the final downhill run into Gawler which completes the ride.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Comment by Mathew("Dr. Cadence")Parker on February 18, 2012 at 5:01 Sorry guys and gals..but "The cadence man" will not be seen at Gawler Wheelers today due to unexpected circumstances. I was really hankering for a go, at this 36km hill climb, but alas what with the fact i dont feel up to riding all the way down there today and the gusty ol wind added to my decision...also doing track night last night, had me up to all ends of the hours..im not even sure i went to sleep. Shame i cant back up my pretty lame example of Track cycling, by hitting it on the hills....but ive decided to opt out. Have a good ride everybody, and see some of yas 2moro at GS1....now i should probably go to sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Comment by Darren on February 15, 2012 at 20:53 Nothing to do with last week's epic GW ride Pete? I've struggled to get my legs moving all week! Self imposed rest day today and Friday to make sure I'm fresh for track night and GS1.
Comment by terry heney on February 15, 2012 at 20:51 Lyndelle...
You gotta come out.. even just to help me up the hills please LOL
Comment by Pete Roberts on February 15, 2012 at 20:47 I've been feeling 'Flat' all week, so what with Track night on Friday, and GS1 on Sunday, I'm giving Saturday a miss :(
Have fun Guys and Gals !
Comment by Lyndelle Barry on February 15, 2012 at 20:28 On call Friday night so probably won't make it. Will see if the good people in and around Kapunda let me get to bed at a reasonable hour :)
