Ride Details
The route is predominately a hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
The first half of the route, however, is flat and passes through Muno Para, Davoren Park, Elizabeth West, the Edinburgh precinct, Salisbury and eventually Salisbury Heights. After proceeding north along the Main North Rd for a short distance, the climbing starts with a right turn onto Black Top Rd followed by another right turn onto Williams Rd which eventually links back onto Black Top Rd, leading to the township of One Tree Hill.
The visit to One Tree Hill is only fleeting as a left turn onto One Tree Hill Rd followed by another left turn onto the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd starts the climbing again.
A left turn onto Kentish Rd begins the final downhill run into Gawler which completes the ride.

Comment by Pete Roberts on June 23, 2012 at 0:57 Yea, Midnight, and I have just got home. Not much time for sleep before GW ride tomorrow...
Comment by Andrew M on June 23, 2012 at 0:02 finally got back on the bike today - through a lot of effort to fix the patellar misalignment with physio/exercises in the past 4 weeks, the knee's definitely getting better and I managed a decent ride with basically no pain, but it's definitely not ready yet, no doubt about it. See you all soon(ish).
Comment by Paul P on June 22, 2012 at 21:39 Sorry cant make it, still have a touch of the cold from last week. See you all next week..

Comment by terry heney on June 21, 2012 at 23:18 @Peter...Cornishmans Hill ??? eeewwww stingerrrrrrrrrr..
@John... was up on the GG course we did last Sunday mate.. Had work up there and Loberthal...bad conditions.. very bad... runoff of dirt, gravel, tree limbs all over the roads..bad enough with a car up there today let alone on a bike.. slippery as hell.. hope for all that this weather disappears very smartly.
Comment by Peter Bond on June 21, 2012 at 22:37 Havent done this route before, but often thought about riding all of BlackTop. See how the weather goes and feel on the day.
has anyone had thoughts of Cornishmans Hill also?
Comment by Craig on June 21, 2012 at 21:32 Well it's certainly easier than that Torrens Hill Road anyway. But, if its not raining too badly, I will follow your lead up Yorketown Road, and then hopefully have a bit of energy left for the 'big one' on Sunday. Am wondering what that Seaview Road is going to be like going in the opposite direction to what we did last Sunday! I reckon it might be much like Williams Road, but about three or four times longer!! Might go check that one out tomorrow - in the VH this time. Might be a better indication than using the VT lol.
Comment by terry heney on June 20, 2012 at 22:56 @John... I am no car mate LMAO....I'll take my v8 up there tomorrow and wont have a need to drop down a gear at all but that wont mean my legs will be the same as the v8 hahahahahaha.... Nup me going on the shorter ride...
