Ride Details
The route is predominately a hill climber's ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride joins onto the Gawler Bypass before linking up with the Gawler-Kapunda Rd. A right turn at Roseworthy Rd leads to a short section of the Sturt Highway before the undulations of Gomersal Rd continue the ride towards Tanunda.
A right turn onto Basedow Rd from Tanunda's main street leads to Light Pass Rd and another right turn onto the steep climb of Menglers Hill Rd, which is ridden until the KOM point is reached.
Retracing the route back to the Barossa Valley Way via Tanunda begins the return journey, passing through Lyndoch and onto Cockatoo Valley via Gilbert St and Pimpala Rd.
A right turn onto Williamstown Rd followed by a quick left turn onto Pink Gum Drv, then another left turn onto The Barracks, returns the route to Pimpala Rd, which meets Balmoral Rd.
The route then continues along Balmoral Rd and Calton Rd before the final downhill run to Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Would not be surprised to encounter some of the TDU riders around the Barossa. on Sat. Two GW rides in the beautiful Barossa Valley to choose from. ALL welcome. Comment by Michael Bland on January 9, 2013 at 18:36 About time I tackled Mengler's from front on ,, looking forward to Saturday ,, Bring It On !
Comment by Carl Neadley on January 9, 2013 at 4:58 Remember that if descending Mengler's in this direction you approach the T-junction at the bottom quite quickly - be careful.
