Ride Details
An undulating ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride joins onto the Gawler Bypass before linking up with the Gawler-Kapunda Road. A right turn at Roseworthy Road leads to a short section of the Sturt Highway before the undulations of Gomersal Road continue the ride towards Tanunda.
The Barossa Valley Way begins the return journey, passing through Lyndoch and onto Cockatoo Valley via Gilbert St and Pimpala Rd. A right turn onto Williamstown Rd leads back to Sandy Creek where the Barossa Valley Way is ridden back to Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Comment by Michelle Crick on January 6, 2012 at 16:43 Thank you so much for everyone's comments and support. I have decided to either ride with SSRC on sat on with Cancer voices on Sunday. Having been away all week and not got any Km's in think heading up North would just eat too much into my Sat :-(
Will def be along some other time folks..
Comment by Frank (GW) on January 5, 2012 at 15:40 Hi all. Looks like a turnout of at least 40+ on Saturday for the first 2012 GW ride. A reminder that you have the option of doing the longer ride which incorporates the Menglers Hill leg or you can give Menglers a miss & do the shorter ride. In the past the split has been around 50/50 for each route. Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Those who have not riden before with the GW Group are most welcome....arrive by 7.10....ask for Frank and I will intro you to a few of the regulars. (I am the guy running around with the camera!) Cheers.
I like Keith :-)
OK, I'm on for the hills.
Comment by Keith Davies on January 4, 2012 at 11:22 Michelle, I rode along with you last week on the L ride, from that I think you will enjoy Gommersal/Menglers don't worry about being slow there are a few like myself who will be slow with you. I was also on the previous Gommersa/Menglers ride that Gillian mentioned. That day Gillian nailed it. So have a go "Its not that far"
Comment by Juz on January 4, 2012 at 7:59 I'm signed up for the hills ride. If I end up 15kms behind the main guys, so be it. As a group, we can form an unofficial TEC and pray there are no technical issues :-) Feel free to join me Michelle & Kara (and any others) - I'm out for the kms and practise, not to break any records. Gillian, I hope you come too!
If GW post the hills ride as 'Fast' and 'Normal' then I reckon they will get an awful lot of 'Norms' pre-Bupa. Trouble is that us Norms don't like to offend ;-)
Comment by Richard Smith on January 1, 2012 at 21:30 Gill, I got suckered into doing the "Fast" hills ride on that Menglers effort. It was a matter of just hanging on as long as possible. Craig & I fell off the back in the end. Dont think of that as Fast and "Slow" - More like Fast and "Normal".
Mark we know that everyone is welcomed with open arms at GW (and thank you for that)but we are debating the hills ride this weekend.
@Michelle, please feel free to come I rode with you on Saturday so you know you won't have a problem keeping up with me.
I speak for all GW members when I say we'd love to have you ride with us!
