A persistent cold has kept me away!  Hopefully I have recovered by next weekend!

@Pete. Thanks for the good wishes. I might need them. Hope not, but it is a long way! Re Sedan Hill - Ha ha - At least I am rolling down it. And I certainly won't be doing a U-turn to see what it's like the other way around!

And I have just had a big win. This ride is not going to be nearly as hard as I thought lol;  Just had a look at the map for the 200. We don't have to go down Snake Gully and over the top of Mount Gawler. That's for the 150 route. Yipee! Its just a nice downhill run from the top of Anstey's Hill all the way to Nuriootpa. A little climb up to Angaston, and then a nice roll all the way down to Sedan. Flat to Mannum. Then the climbing starts! Should be fun.

Still hoping one or two of the GWs come along too. So far, as of Thursday night, there were only about seven of us so far. Be nice to have a few more. Cost is fairly low compared to most rides. Between about $25 and $35 depending on whether yoou want to join up with Audax Australia. I joined - $30 membership till their new Membership year starting on 1/11/2012, and $5 entry fee for the day's fun. Not bad. There are some more great rides between now and the 1st of November. Including a Bupa test run.

Good luck John with your Audax attempt. That's a big ride.

Last year a few of us did the 200km Grand Slam including the infamous Sedan Hill, and it was a blast. Certainly a good one to 'tick off'

Bad luck Barry. You are having a real battle this winter! Roll on spring and summer.

Have to change to not attending as still having coughing fits enough to break a rib !!!!! and feeling a bit below par. So better to get over it completely first. VERY frustrating, was looking forward to doing this loop. But have a great ride everybody.

Was just thinking that based on the weather forecast for a beautiful sunny Sunday, there might be a few keen skiers who can't wait to get out there. But yes, I forgot its really still the middle of winter! I'll count them and let you know!

You won't find many ski boats this time of year lol

Still thinking about it Carl. Trying to work out which option might have less cars and ski boat trailers to cope with. Tricky problem. Not as simple as it may seem. Its all in the timing. The 200 is definitely going to be testing. Its basically a 60km or so climb up hill from Mannum to the top of the Mount Lofty Range! Hmm? Jenny said she would come and get me if I can't do it. But there was a long pause between me asking and her 'volunteering'! LOL.

I'm coming so looking forward to seeing you all again. Been on three rides since Sunday and I'm a bit sore from them and gardening, stiff hammys and lower back, so this will be interesting. I'm expecting a tow again. but am really trying to increase the fitmess so I can take a turn at the front. You'll have ti give me a couple of months before this occurs though. I'm not convinced this will be as easy as you all say. I remember some nice downhills going the normal way, especially in the early section of Gommersal, so you can pull me up those Skinny DAVE!
