Ride Details
A hill climbers ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride follows the Main North Rd south before making a left turn onto Medlow Rd with its long steep climb. From the top of Medlow Rd, the Gawler-One Tree Hill Rd provides a few fast/slow undulations before the downhill run to the Humbug Scrub crossroads.
The long steady climb of the One Tree Hill-Kersbrook Rd takes the rider up and over the 500m peak above Mt Crawford Forest followed by the fast descent into Kersbrook. From Kersbrook to Williamstown the road undulates just enough to keep the legs pushing and spinning, making the scheduled break in Williamstown all the more deserved.
Leaving Williamstown via Yettie Rd, the route then continues onto Balmoral Rd and Calton Rd before the final downhill run to Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Comment by Ray Melbourne on July 27, 2012 at 21:07 Meet you on Medlow Road. You should have a new rider tomorrow, Mark Sutton. I'm sure you'll make him welcome.
Comment by Frank (GW) on July 27, 2012 at 20:45 i will be staying home come down with a bad chest cough.
Ouch! Thanks for sharing. Classic accident that one!
Yep, a 600ml carton of Farmers Union is a also a bit hard to juggle on the handlebars while changing gears and braking. I got away with it on my mountain bike once or twice, and then I bought a nice shopping basket from Gary that just clips on and off the front handlebar when needed. Nice design.
Comment by Dave, Lewiston on July 27, 2012 at 18:37 Temp above 5c, not much chance of rain, light winds...
I'm running out of excuses, so I've loaded the bike in the back of the Skoda (Yaris).
And, btw, where the hell did Medlow Road come from??
Welcome back, Matthew! It's been a while.
