Event Description

This is a nice short ride that you can bring your kids on.

Kids are welcome to ride either on their own bike, in a trailer or even on a tag-along bike.

The ride starts from Wiggley reserve at Glenelg (near the Buffalo)

Arrive at the trail any time after 1pm for an 1.20pm ride briefing and a 1.30pm departure. Will aim to get away promptly

The ride follows the bike path to a play area at West Beach

The track is flat and easy to navigate.

The halfway point will be the playground at West beach. Here the kids can dismount and have a play for 10-15 weather permitting then head back to Glenelg for ice cream and treats. I plan to pack some snack so the kids can sit on the grass and play in the park

All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike (including mountain bike) and an approved helmet are welcome. It is advised that you ensure that your bikes and/or trailers, tag-alongs are in good working order prior to the day of the ride.

All adult riders ride at their own risk and are deemed responsible for any and all of the children they bring to the ride. It is advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details.

Comment by Michelle Crick on August 24, 2012 at 13:43: **CANCELLED** After discussing it with Phil we have decided to cancel this event and move it for a few weeks time when the weather will be more kind. A high of 16, scattered showers and strong winds is not good fun for the kids :-(

You can park along the road by the Buffalo for 2 hours free and the parking area in the middle but that is not as child friendly. I will have a look tomorrow and see if there is a coffee/ice cream alternative without crossing major roads amd get back to you :-)
