Ride Details
An undulating ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride joins onto the Gawler Bypass before linking up with the Gawler-Kapunda Rd for the straight run out towards Freeling.
A left turn at Gray St leads to Freeling's town centre where it will be possible to have a short break.
The ride continues in a westerly direction to Templers and Wasleys before returning to Gawler via Kangaroo Flat along Mallala Rd, passing Roseworthy College along the way.
Mallala Rd eventually becomes Redbanks Rd and a right turn at the large roundabout leads back to the Gawler Bypass via a short section of Weyland Rd.
The Two Wells Rd exit from the Gawler Bypass signifies the last section of the ride and the return into Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Gary's living proof of that. Since that photo was taken, he's lost at least 30kg. That's the power of the Wheelers!
Comment by Frank (GW) on July 6, 2012 at 17:29 Come on Scott....you know deep down that you want to! Just layer up with extra clothes.
Comment by Scott Davis on July 6, 2012 at 16:35 I think it is going to be too cold for me to join you for my first time. I've been coming back to look at the ride all week, but expect me to just read the report with interest I think.
Comment by Dahondude on July 6, 2012 at 11:14 Thanks all. I now have a lift to Gawler so will be there for the start. Looking forward to a nice ride in the sunshine.
Comment by Carl Neadley on July 6, 2012 at 7:41 @DD - assuming the trains are running on time the first train gets to Evanston Stn at 7.40 & the route crosses the line on Para Rd - may be an option (I'll probably be a TEC cos Mick's not there this weekend - I can wait for you if your definitely going to be there) - I can wait for you even if I'm not TEC
Comment by Gary Mills on July 5, 2012 at 21:07 @ John Hetzel.Good to meet you today John. As I said, don't worry about not keeping up. All levels of fitness and ability is welcome and you will get faster and fitter very quickly.
@ DD, they normally have a quick regroup at the intersection of Main North Road / Theile Hwy so you would more than likely catch them there. Train should get to Gawler about 7.45 so you won't be to far behind. Their are a couple that will ride back to about Nailsworth if looking for a cycle back. Just ask around.
Comment by Lee Bakes on July 5, 2012 at 20:30 @John Hetzel, no need to worry about that, mate. That is why there is a tail end Charlie, so nobody gets left behind. The TEC won't get upset.
Comment by terry heney on July 5, 2012 at 18:41 @John Hetzel....Dont worry about it mate.. usually the big boys are always waayyy ahead of most of us :) I will probably be pretty close to you anyhow...Enjoy the ride John...
