Event Description

A social group ride for riders new to the concept and fearing that they are 'too slow' for other group rides.

Averaging around 20kph (can be slower if need dictates).

Starts and finishes in McLaren Vale at the Almond Train (next to the bike track).

This is not a training ride and a Tail End Charlie will be appointed so that no one will be left behind.

There will be regular stops to regroup on what will be a gently undulating track.

Main roads will be avoided wherever possible.

We will also have the opportunity of having a chat and buy a well earned (and almost mandatory) coffee and cake at the end.

Meet for a rider briefing at 7.30am for a 7.45am start.

If you have ever wanted to go on group rides, the most important thing is to GET STARTED.

All riders with a mechanically sound road or flat bar type bike and an approved helmet are welcome.

All riders ride at their own risk and are advised to have public liability insurance, and to carry emergency contact details.

keep an eye on veloway closures, I think it's shut between Majors Road and Lander from Thursday onwards.

If any NTSSRC are coming along I'll be departing from our normal kick off point at 7.00am.....with a margin of error can mean anything from 6.55 to 7.05am

Colin you are probably right will see how this goes next week then a tweak maybe in order. Don't forget we have the Rag Tag event too but something in between might be useful...

would suggest a shorter distance for beginners ( real beginners) and the pace kept in check
