Williamstown Rd is only ridden for a short distance until a right turn onto Yettie Rd leads to the picturesque township of Williamstown, where it will be possible to have a short break.

Comment by terry heney on May 22, 2012 at 22:42 @John Mills... Lee and I have a bit more than the normal swoosh in our cars LMAO!!!!!...VY's are nice John...soo seeing as how you wont be at this ride then I suppose I'll just have to sit on Frank's rear wheel up Carlton Road if I can stay on it that is :) Up for it Frank ?
Comment by Frank (GW) on May 22, 2012 at 22:16 Thanks Peter re the detour. Saw it on Sunday when I was up there. We have a Plan B in place. If the road is wet we will not ride the unsealed section...instead we will go to Sandy Creek via BH Hwy, turn right at the pub and then get back onto the scheduled route at the Balmoral Rd intersection. I will take a look on Friday and final call will be made on Sat morning re variation to the route due to the detour and weather conditions. Rider safety will be the key consideration. Will be a good ride in any event...not too long and has bit of everything. Cheers
Comment by Peter Bond on May 22, 2012 at 21:14 Looking forward to another great GW ride.
@ Frank - there is a detour at top of Carlton prior to Balmoral turn off due to the new (horrid) subdivision being built. The detour turns left onto Cheek Ave and then right onto BV Hwy (road to Sandy Creek) and then right at the CFS station (?Kalbeeba road) across train track with a bit of unsealed road and then left again onto Balmoral Road.
My six year old is having a sleep over Friday night. I realize a lot of you would think that's a great reason for getting out of the house on Saturday morning, but I think I better be around to help out!
Comment by Carmen P. on May 22, 2012 at 8:57 Ha ha. How about Dale? He's got the strength for two. Just use a bungee strap, not a rope, or else everytime he pushes on the pedals you will get whip lash to add to your back problems. Yep, can get a bit tiring chasing cars. Been at it two weeks now. Very time consuming. Drove a nice VY Commodore Sunday night. Now I know how you and Lee get around. Whhoooosh! So trying to convince my missus that she needs a nice 'new' VY as well.
Comment by terry heney on May 21, 2012 at 23:09 @John Mills.. oh bugger as I was going to hang on your tail to get up Carlton Road.
Hope you guys find the right car John :)
Comment by Pete Roberts on May 21, 2012 at 22:04 Would have loved to come, but have promised to help a friend buy a car early on Saturday morning. The plan is to use the Saturday Car's Guide in the Advertiser. But we need to get to the 'good one' and hand over the cash before anyone else beats us to it. Doing a morning GW ride and then going car hunting at 3.00pm just doesn't seem to work! So I hope we find one this week, or I might be missing out again the week after! (Anyone have a nice car for sale? Looking for one on LPG and under 200,000km)
