Ride Details An undulating ride starting in Gawler and finishing in Gawler.
After leaving Gawler, the ride joins onto the Gawler Bypass before linking up with the Gawler-Kapunda Rd. A right turn at Roseworthy Rd leads to a short section of the Sturt Highway before the undulations of Gomersal Rd continue the ride towards Tanunda.
A left turn at the end of Gomersal Rd leads to the picturesque entrance of Tanunda where Murray St is ridden through the town centre and continues along the Barossa Valley Way towards Nuriootpa. A right turn on South Tce followed by a left turn onto The Crescent, leads to the start of the 6.5 km Nuriootpa to Angaston Bike Path.
The Bike Path eventually reaches Washington St in Angaston where a left turn connects with Sturt St and leads to Murray St.
A right turn onto Penrice Rd leads to Nuriootpa's main street where a right turn onto Gawler St soon becomes Greenock Rd, which eventually reaches the small hamlet of Greenock itself.
A right turn onto Kapunda Rd exits Greenock and directs the route to its intersection with the Gawler-Kapunda Rd, where a left turn starts the return journey to Gawler.
Nearing Gawler, a left turn on the Main North Rd loops back to the Gawler Bypass which is ridden until The Two Wells Rd exit, signifying the last section of the ride and the return into Gawler.
IMPORTANT
The Gawler Wheelers Group Ride Guidelines and Group Ride Recommendations must be read prior to attending a Group Ride Event.

Hey Terry, thanks, but I guess that means you are still without a rear wheel? Bad luck. Be good to have a day off maybe, after your full on effort last week!
Comment by terry heney on May 2, 2012 at 12:42 Enjoy the ride all.
Well it will be cool. Maybe a shower around Nuri / Angaston area, according to Elder's Weather http://www.eldersweather.com.au/sa/mount-lofty-ranges/nuriootpa.
A bit overcast is OK by me. Was going to do a training ride out to Nuri, along the Sturt Highway, last night but ended up having to help a mate out with his car problems. And so many meetings and evening work to do for the rest of the week. Oh well, a week off the bike will just make it even more fun on Saturday.
Comment by Lyndelle Barry on April 30, 2012 at 22:01 Okay so I'm not on call. Now it's up to Frank to order some weather that looks just like today!
Comment by Darren on April 30, 2012 at 16:48 Dirty on myself for missing last week's ride - big Friday night, slept right through the alarm, sorry! This week's pretty important to me so will make every effort to be there.
Cross fingers Lyndelle that you are not needed at work. And that the weather is fine again. Am looking forward to cruising in style through the Barossa on my fancy new bike. And I am sure you are too, with your all carbon super bike. And hopefully Terry gets his new wheel(s) and there are a few more come along for the cruise. If you haven't done the new bike path from Nuri to Angaston - its great! Worth stopping and taking in the view of the whole Barossa Valley just before going through the railway cutting at the top of the hill near Angaston.
Comment by Lyndelle Barry on April 29, 2012 at 21:10 Looks like so much fun. If I'm not on call and feeling OK at the split I'll go the whole way. Happy to ride with Tail End Charlie if it means making 100k

SOB was a tester of flat speed mate..This ride I certainly wont be setting any land speed records at all if I attempt it. John Mills certainly wont be pushing hard either so hang around us if we both go and enjoy the scenery with us.
Comment by Old Macdonald (Jon) on April 29, 2012 at 15:55 I'm keen to do this, but not sure my body is up to it yet? Saturday''s ride was really good but really hard. I spent 40.9% of the time in the top 10% of my heart rate and another 48% of the time in the 80-90% range. I'm amazed I didn't die. So that is working ridiculously hard; there is no way I could do that for 4 hrs. I guess I'll wait for the day, perhaps drive to Gawler first. If only I didn't get sucked in to trying (but failing) to stay up with the good guys.
Comment by terry heney on April 29, 2012 at 15:35 @John Mills.. puts hand up.. if I'm up for it after Gomersal..
