Meet at car park of Prices Fresh Bakery Golden Grove at 7:45am for safety briefing for 8am roll-out.
Route: 'The 'Burbs Burn' - 37km (Flat - Undulating - Hilly)
Please note: once posted, we will ride the route 'as is'. We will be mixing it up a bit with a 'Burn around the 'Burbs' - this ride has a little bit of everything, a nice descent, a good flat stretch to warm up 'ze legs, gentle growing to medium gradient, and some 'roller coaster' hills. The route map can be found here: http://www.bikemap.net/route/1440233
The Grove Way - Bridge Rd - Briens Rd - Hamstead Rd - Taunton Rd - Ascot Ave - Lwr Portrush Rd - Payneham Rd - Lwr North East Rd - Hancock Rd - Yatla Vale Rd - The Grove Way
Will plan re-group spots and will have dedicated TECs that ensure no one is left behind. The regroup spots allow everyone to go at their own pace - never pressure on the slower riders.
Just as a note to those that look at these rides but may be currently a little 'put off' by the hills. I am by no means a climber and are relatively new to cycling, but give everything a damned 'red hot go' and 'huff and puff' my way up the hills - albeit slowly. You will not be alone at the back, so come out and give it a 'crack' you might end up surprising yourself.
This is a social group ride, all are welcome to join. Please RSVP on this event page.
We will be following the guidelines outlined in the .pdf here: http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/group/gully-grinders-north-east-cyclists/page/gully-grinders-group-ride-guidelines

Comment by Roger ... on April 22, 2012 at 15:54 I rode the 29er for old imes sake .. it weighs a lot, lot more the Cannondale I struggled like crazy while Kylie collected a enough cups to open a soup kitchen. I'm gong to be stiff tomorrow I'm fricken stiff now. btw after a coffee and a doughnut I did a reccy on Wynn Vale Dr.. Gemma will love that
Had a very full on week and couldn't make it to the ride. Rode up to the bakery later to catch up with the riders and waited until 11.00 but they weren't back so I took a nice breezy ride along Bridge Rd etc to the Cargo Bike picnic on the Torrens.
Comment by Roger ... on April 22, 2012 at 15:45 we did the ride and then figured we were near the Gorge Rd so
"why not do Corkscrew Rd?" lol
our real ride & adventure began about 10 secs after that
Good ride , pitty I had to get a flatty.

Comment by Gemma B on April 20, 2012 at 11:22 hey guys, I aggravated an injury on the way home last night. After consulting with a doctor this morning they have recommended that I take a couple of days off the bike. I am sorry that I will have to miss this ride, especially after the week I've had a bit of stress relief by tearing around on the bike would have been great!
Dean or Roger, would you be kind enough to look after the ride brief and ask for a ride leader and tail end charlie?
Comment by Roger ... on April 18, 2012 at 22:09 sounds good to me Clive
I'm thinking that if the weathers good I might head into town after coffee and check out a few cargo bikes and catch up with a few faces. Could be via the Linear Park if Roger's there or Bridge Rd Nth East etc.
