Event Description

Now June 17 - Adelaide Cyclists winter ride 2

Meet at 8am at Cibo CBD (cnr Rundle and Frome) or earlier if you want a coffee before and ride to Glenelg to pick up at the Buffalo at 8.30am then West Beach, Semaphore and Outer Harbour.

We will pause at the Buffalo to remember Gordon Boheme, the volunteer marshall who was killed a few weeks ago at Outer Harbour. Many might want to ride in his memorial peloton so we will get to Osbourne by 9.35 for the beginning of the memorial.

If you want to ride the 2 loops of the Outer Harbour course stay there or ride back to Semaphore for a coffee at the playground kiosk at Semaphore for coffee then ride back.

The pace will be a relaxed one. It's a chance to come out and meet other members and keep the winter chills away.

This is an unassisted social ride. You should have your own insurance, helmet and spares.

Comment by Gus K on June 15, 2012 at 16:41: I think a plan might be, as I've edited above, to leave the Buffalo promptly at 8.35am and ride to Osbourne/ Largs bay and stop at the VLCC memorial ride for Graham Boheme were we can pay respects and if you want to ride with their peloton for the two laps stay there or after the speaking part turn back to the Semaphore Kiosk. So no Outer Harbour.

Comment by Clive Palfrey on June 14, 2012 at 16:27: Just a point on the route from City to Glenelg. Last time we rode to West Tce and then to ANZAC Hgwy. I understand that there has been some major disruptions this week with road works at the West Tce/ANZAC junction and at times no right turn into ANZAC Hgwy from West Tce. So unless anybody can advise that the work is now completed it might pay to head South to Greenhill and onto ANZAC Hgwy from there
