This event is full. Please contact the Event Organizer for further information.
This event has been cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Thank you to all of you for your support and input along the way.
The Mod Squad are still braving the weather conditions and wish them luck.
A social afternoon/evening is still happening in Clare with the Mod Squad and some of us still staying in the Clare Hotel.
This is for those who want to ride to Clare but may not be up to 'The Mod Squads' speed over the full 140km.
This ride has similar requirements from riders as the Moderate group and is for those who can maintain 23-30km/hr average speed on the flat.
It will be ridden as a paceline and people must have bunch/paceline riding skills and understand signals used.
All riders will share lead rider duties.
Riders should have ridden a few 100+km rides, can change tyres/fix punctures, carry own tools and can comfortably make the full 140km.
For a rundown on Paceline/Bunch riding skills and signals please read the Guide from Cobwebs & BikeSA COBWEBS_Ride_Guide_2009.pdf (Thank you to Cobwebs & BikeSA for producing guide)
*Please arrive at Victoria Square no later than 7am.*
NB: RSVP for this ride will close Thursday 19/05/11 at 5pm so please finalise by this time.
This is due to accommodation needing to be booked by individuals as well as overnight bag drops on the Friday.
*Please make sure you have booked your accommodation in Clare.
*I have contacted Clare Hotel enquiring as to whether our bikes can be taken into our rooms and the answer to that is "Yes".
If the weather looks to be dreadful i.e. wet with gale winds, storms etc then the event may be cancelled.
Safety is my number one priority for all riders and do not wish to put anyone in harms way.
If it looks to be awful weather in Adelaide but clear out Gawler and beyond we can catch the train to Gawler and ride from there if needed.
Any suggestions or alternatives to this welcomed.
