Event Description

We are Ready Set Ride! a not for profit, bicycle collective who organise bike ride adventures and various bike events in Adelaide.

This will be the third year of our free bicycle film night, Bikes Camera, Action! Once again we have hand picked an banquet of films to please cyclists of all kinds. It will be a night of human powered delights and on screen shenanigans. Featuring Road to Roubaix, Polo Manual, The Bicycle Cowboy and MORE!

This year we are holding BCA at an outdoor venue as last year’s event was at capacity with nearly 200 people in attendance! (Some people even watched from the alleyway outside the venue)

Just a note, if you have any bicycle related goodies (ie, zines, stickers, accessories etc) that you want to put on our stall or have a film/data projector we could use for the day give us a bell.

We hope to see you and your bike then!

bikes rock!

thanks for attending everyone! the weather was threatening us for the last few days. so we just had to hope those keen would come regardless and if it really did rain we'd move inside. lucky it didn't have to come to that.
all in all we were very happy with the event. thanks adelaide cyclists for this platform. it is great having somewhere accessible to all cyclists to find and post events here in adelaide.
we have quite an extensive mailing list who we send updates on our rides and events and other local bicycle related events.
please join by sending us an email at

see you all at the swap meet next sunday!

It was a really great night, thanks for putting it on!
I would echo Angus' comments on the Bike Kitchen and bike co-ops - makes me so keen to get one set up in Adelaide (I was pretty keen already, but now I feel really inspired!)
Really enjoyed all the films, look forward to the next one!!

Thanks for organising the film night.
At 7pm I wondered about going, because it had only just stopped raining in Prospect. Yet when I reached the bottom of the hill and into the Charles Sturt Council area, the roads were dry.
There was quite a crowd, yet only 8 people confirmed that they would attend. At least 75 people there - I spoke to many as I collected a petition to keep bicycle lanes. (Refer to Prospect BUG page.)

Thanks guys for putting it on. I'm glad the rain stayed away. It was a good selection of films. The co-op 'Bicycle Kitchen' one was inspiring. The

Road to Roubaix wasn't bad. You don't need to apologies. It was good to see it before tonight's event. I think as a film it could have been shorter, like 50min, and some of the repetition in cyclists grabs cut out (and that Flemish woman!!). I thought some of the major interviewees were good, especially the 'ex Rock 'n Roll' writer. His description of the race running through some of the worlds most bloody battlefields was particularly evocative. I also thought I heard the voice of the Bike Show's Jack Thurstan but no visuals.
I reckon it I was an editor I would have made the film follow the race from pre-start then as the race progressed when we begin to realise Stuart O'Grady will win.

I did like the long walk he took after his win and the showroom scenes. So much respect and tradition.

That's a good lookin' wall. Will be better with bicycles on it.

Will there be a program guide out in advance?
