Annual Spring Ride, Sunday 28th October. Please join the Bicycle Institute, South Australia for its annual ride for members, friends and anyone interested in cycling advocacy in Adelaide. This Sunday, October 28, 2012. 11:00am and picnic at 1:00pm
Join us for just the gentle late-morning ride or stay for a BYO picnic lunch. Come and chat about the future of bike-riding in Adelaide. The ride will depart from the Par 3 Golf Links in North Adelaide at 11 am - near the Torrens Weir. A family-friendly route mostly on trails in the West Parklands (spot the possum and the feral cat with it's victims in Wirranendi), plus a visit to the Cawthorne St mural in neighbouring Thebarton. Back into the West Parklands and across the Torrens Weir, then onto nearby Pinky Flat, on the cricket ground side of the Torrens Lake on War Memorial Drive, for the picnic around noon. With the back-drop of the CBD and the activity around and on the Torrens Lake, we'd like to hear what's on your mind - e.g. new cycle routes in Adelaide, encouraging more cyclists to ride, cargo biking, the Gehl Report (Public Spaces and Public Life), Velocity and its potential, what the Bicycle Institute is involved with, or what riding in your neighbourhood is like.
