Event Description
The Race Across America is an epic, 3000-mile bicycle race that is one of the most challenging sporting events in the world. Top riders finish in 10 days, cycling over 300 miles per day through the searing heat of the Mojave Desert, the agonizing climbs and descents of the Rockies, the driving winds of the Great Plains, and the twisting switchbacks of the Appalachians. With little prize money at stake, the fundamental motivation is simply the challenge of the ride. Filmmaker Stephen Auerbach put 18 cameras into the field to document this gruelling event, uncovering the inner workings of the race and gaining unprecedented access to the cyclists and their teams. They captured emotional and physical breakdowns, late-night strategy sessions, and great moments of personal triumph, all in intimate detail. That was a surprisingly well made doco. Letting the people do the talking, rather than a narrator.
Thanks guys for coming along. I'm glad it was worth seeing.
I might try to re-jiggle the event so that it also marks the second screening on the 6th March.
Also, picked up my sherman tank from LBS on the way home. Given some crucial life saving surgery (new shifter, chain, cassette). But boy oh boy that Scott 29er felt great on a test ride!

It was great to meet you all today by chance! Hopefully will catch one of the CVSA rides soon.
Also have to agree, great movie. I'll think twice about complaining when the going gets tough out on the bike again! Anyone who is thinking about seeing it, don't miss it tomorrow.

Have to concur. Brilliant movie. Won't say much about it now though as it would spoil it if you do go. Still another screening tomorrow if anyones interested.
Sorry I had to leave straight after team... deck's now sanded ready for an oil tomorrow after a ride.

I think everyone enjoyed the film and it really is a "must see". Yes, even if you have 3 chain rings! Also, if you think you are a hard core cyclist - think again ;-)
